Specialist corrosion control methodology
Corrosion processes and mechanisms are due to complex interactions at the metal solution interface.
Cormon have developed specialist expertise, versatile technology, tools and methodologies to monitor different types of corrosion behaviour under particular conditions.
Some of the specialist areas include:
- Pitting - methods have been developed to distinguish
general, localised and pitting corrosion by a combination of techniques
- MIC - methods to detect the presence of biofilms
and under-deposit corrosion and morphology have been advanced
- Condensation (dew-point) - techniques in sensor
design/cooling and control have been developed to characterise and measure
dew-point and corrosion
- Iron sulphide - techniques have been developed to detect dynamic behaviour of formation and growth of films and resultant under-deposit corrosion
These monitoring advancements have been allied to application specific industry problems and have included strong consultative, applications engineering and laboratory studies for our clients. We then work with our clients to move the technology into the field, collaborating with the operating and asset management companies to develop proactive control strategies for the asset.
Our aim is to deliver an independent and impartial professional service with particular emphasis on cost benefit, added value and quality.
